A dog is recovering after being abandoned.
Fond du Lac police say he was left behind when his owners moved out of their home.
The home’s landlord found the dog on Sunday and called police.
Renee Webb with the Fond du Lac Humane Society estimates the dog had been neglected for about three weeks.
She says he’s severely dehydrated and suffering from starvation.
She says they’re working on the long and daunting task of reversing those effects.
Webb says that includes giving him small amounts of food and water.
She thinks giving him too much food and water at once could actually be fatal.
Webb hopes the people who did this are found and prosecuted.
