The chorus of lawmakers calling for Outagamie County to continue paying for emergency sirens is growing.
Appleton Alderman Kyle Lobner wants the Common Council to approve a proposal from the City of Kaukauna to have the county earmark money from the new half-cent sales tax to fund the sirens. He says it’s an important warning system and it should work in every community in the county no matter what.
Outagamie County is turning over ownership and control of the sirens to local municipalities next year. Lobner will introduce the Kaukauna sales tax proposal at the next Appleton Common Council meeting.
