A Madison Democrat wants congress to talk about expanded background checks.
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin says she’s a gun owner herself. She says law-abiding citizens should be able to purchase guns. She thinks background checks don’t infringe on the second amendment.
President Trump expressed support for background checks but has backed off. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel says he won’t bring anything to the floor that the president won’t sign. Baldwin thinks they shouldn’t have to wait for the president and congress should take on the issue.
