Railroad workers inspected a crossing on Highway A, north of Appleton, after two men were seriously hurt in a crash this morning.
Staff Sgt. Wang Lee of the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department says a van was going over the tracks, south of Highway S, when a tire blew. He says the driver crossed the centerline and hit a car head-on.
Lee says they were trying to figure out if the tracks had anything to do with the tire problem.
The railroad crossing on Highway A is open again.
