New drivers from high schools around northeast Wisconsin are listening to warnings about distracted driving.
The annual PARTY at the PAC started yesterday, and the final two programs are today.
Dr. Ray Georgen is the trauma director at ThedaCare’s Neenah hospital, and he says it’s the biggest issue they’re seeing right now. He says some cars are almost like home entertainment systems, and plenty of drivers aren’t paying enough attention to the road.
Georgen believes it’s especially a serious problem for young drivers, because there’s already enough to process, without any distractions.
The program also warns students about what can happen if they drink or use drugs, and then get behind the wheel.
