A large search for a two-year-old girl in Freedom ended on a good note.
Sgt. Nathan Borman of the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department says the toddler wandered away from her apartment while her parents were sleeping. The parents called police around 11 a.m. today, and searchers found the girl at a neighbor’s apartment, nearly 1-1/2 hours later.
Borman says the neighbor was taking care of the kid, while waiting to find the parents.
He says more than 100 police officers, firefighters, and first responders helped look. He says the response was very impressive, and thankfully they weren’t needed in the end.
The investigation is ongoing.
