Federal prosecutors say a high-ranking New York City schools official thought he was going to meet a 14-year-old boy in Neenah.
Thirty-nine-year-old David Hay is accused of chatting on a dating app with a boy he thought was named “Colton,” but was actually an undercover Neenah police officer. Prosecutors say Hay rented a whirlpool suite at a Neenah hotel to have sex with the teen.
They say investigators also found sexually explicit pictures of a former high school student in Tomah on Hay’s phone. Before moving to New York City, Hay was the principal at Tomah High School from 2011 to 2014. He was also a principal at Kettle Moraine High School.
Hay was arrested at the Milwaukee airport on Sunday. He’s facing charges of child enticement and possessing child pornography.
