Foo Fighters took to Twitter on Wednesday (February 19th) to mark the 25th anniversary of the band's very first show, sharing a photo from the 1995 keg party gig at the Marine Store in Seattle.
A caption accompanying the picture said, “There is a moment in every band’s history when you decide it’s time to load the gear out of the practice space and bring the music to the people for the first time. This was ours, 25 years ago today.”
A follow-up post — presumably from Foos main man Dave Grohl, added, “25 years later, the fear and stage fright may have faded, but the love of making music with my friends is stronger than ever. Happy anniversary, fellas.”
Foo Fighters will continue the 25th anniversary festivities with a North American tour on which the band will hit some of the same cities it visited during its first trek, back in 1995. The 2020 Van Tour will launch on April 12th in Phoenix and may possible hit some small venues like the ones the band played a quarter century ago.
The Foos also recently completed work on their 10th studio LP, which is expected to arrive later this year.
