For many Christians, the 40 days of Lent starts today, on Ash Wednesday.
Pastor Tim Seabough of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Appleton says they provide ashes during today’s services. He says if they’re comfortable, they put a cross on people’s forehead or hand. He describes it as a reminder of sacrifice.
Lent is a time for believers of Jesus to pray, and make personal sacrifices, as they prepare for his death, and his resurrection on Easter.
