Two labs in the state can now run tests for coronavirus.
Dr. Allen Bateman is with the State Laboratory of Hygiene at UW-Madison, and he says they’re able to process them, along with the City of Milwaukee’s health department.
Bateman says if a test comes back positive for coronavirus, the state needs to send it to the CDC for confirmation.
The state has tested 21 people so far, and the CDC had been handling them. The results of two are still pending. Eighteen were negative, and one was positive.
