Governor Evers is proposing a package of bills designed to control spring flooding, even though the Assembly isn’t expected to meet for the rest of the year.
The governor wants to cover a portion of local government costs to fix highways and bridges, and set aside $10 million to help local governments build structures to collect storm water and groundwater.
He would also create an income tax deduction for flood insurance premiums.
