Coming on Friday (April 3rd) is Under The Covers: The Best Of Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs. The 30-track double disc set, features the duo's favorites from the three collections of '60s, '70s, and '80s covers they released between 2006 and 2013.
Among the legendary artists the pair salute on the new set includes the Beatles, R.E.M., the Clash, Marshall Crenshaw, the Zombies, the Allman Brothers Band, Linda Ronstadt, Echo & The Bunnymen, the Smiths, Tom Petty, Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Blondie, and more
Susanna Hoffs, best known from her work with the Bangles, recalled her and Matthew Sweet's initial sessions for the Under The Covers project as being a true meeting of the minds: “I would work at Matthew's house — when he was living in L.A. — on all those records. And when we first came up with the idea of doing this covers record of '60s songs, we both went home and, like, worked on our lists, and we're, like, this is kismet! Y'know, we're in-sync on this thing.”
