Weezer has released a new song called “Hero,” from the band's forthcoming album, Van Weezer. A video for the song, paying tribute to frontline workers, is out now as well. A YouTube description says the clip is a tribute to “the stay at home dreamers, the Zoom graduators, the sourdough bakers and the essential workers.”
Although Van Weezer was originally due out next week, the LP's arrival has been delayed and a new release date will be unveiled soon. The first single from the disc, “The Name Of The Game,” arrived last year.
Weezer has also teamed up with Postmates to support healthcare heroes caring for COVID-19 patients. On Wednesday night (May 6th), nurses at Los Angeles's Good Samaritan Hospital were sent meals from Uncle Paulie's Deli during their breaks thanks to Weezer, Postmates and Feed Hero Nurses, a volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing meals to nurses on the frontlines.
Van Weezer follows the release of last year's Black Album, as well as the covers set, the Teal Album.
