Fabolous and Jadakiss battled on Instagram Live last night for Swizz Beatz's and Timbaland's VERZUZ series. More than 200,000 hip-hop fans tuned into the NYC rap heavyweights. Jadakiss kicked off round one with DMX feat. The LOX & Jay-Z’s “Blackout” and Fabolous came with his Lil Wayne collaboration Juelz Santana‘s “You Ain’t Got Nuthin.'”
Other hits that was played during the battle include: Jadakiss’ “By Your Side,” Fabolous's “Trade It All Pt. 2” feat. P. Diddy & Jagged Edge, Fab's “Keepin' It Gangsta,” Jada's “Knock Yourself Out,” Fab's “Can't Deny It,” Fabolous' “Throw It In The Bag.” Jada also played Diddy's featuring The Notorious B.I.G., Lil’ Kim & The Lox’s “It’s All About the Benjamins” (Remix) and Fab's “Make Me Better” and “You Be Killin Em.”
A tipsy Jadakiss also revealed that he wrote Diddy's verse on “Victory” and played it in sresponse to Fab's French Montana collaboration “Ball Drop.” When Fab played “Into You” featuring Tamia, Jadakiss admitted that it is one of his favorite songs and it will be his wedding song. Fabolous then explained the story behind the song, which originally featured Ashanti but when he shot the video, Tamia was the featured vocalist. He claimed that he originally wanted Tamia for the song, but she was in throat surgery when he recorded it. Fabolous also said that Ashanti was too busy to shoot the video at the time, but Ashanti chimed in in the comments and also said that wasn't the real story.
Tamia responded to Fab's comments on social media, posting a photo of all of her albums, along with the caption, “25 years. 8 albums. 0 throat surgeries. ❤️🙌🏽.”
Although Billboard has called the battle a tie, the streets say Jadakiss took the crown!
